One of the rarest creatures in the Wilds, the phoenix is a bird that lives, dies and lives again in fire. Said to be favored by Gilath, patron god of the Lavot, inclusion of a phoenix in a Silvestrem match can create an immediate theological crisis for any devout Lavot in attendance. Many of the regulars have justified this by pointing out no one has discovered a way to permanently kill the bird, though Koralt has yet to stop trying. The phoenix is one of the only creatures to have specific rules for use within the Silvestrem, limited to one resurrection before the arena’s mages teleport the creature back to its pen. Vareclea is very fond of the birds, delighting in their deaths and marveling at their rebirths. Rumor has it the malevolent owner of the Silvestrem has a pet phoenix she routinely slaughters to keep her quarters unnaturally warm.
The Phoenix is a ranged support creature with high speed, flight and a strong passive. The Phoenix works best behind heartier creatures, using Soothe sparingly for burst healing on your most imperiled creatures. Resurrection may make players feel like they can play fast and loose with the Phoenix’s health. Though Resurrection is an incredibly powerful skill, the Phoenix is a much weaker creature once it has been used. Keep your Phoenix safe, wear your opponent down, and outlast them in final rounds.
