One of the more enigmatic creatures of the Wilds, horned golems can be found around the ancient crags of the Paelathron Mountains, roaming the same warn paths they have patrolled for centuries. In the time before the fall of the elves, horned golems were heavily favored as protectors of castle catacombs and treasuries. Their brute strength and legendary endurance made for a nasty surprise for any would-be thief foolish enough to cross paths with them. The Silvestrem’s rise in popularity ended this practice, the creatures’ value at the markets sometimes exceeding the wealth they once protected. A horned golem is always a welcome addition in the arena, their stone bodies saving the lives of countless men and women wise enough to stand behind them when the horn blows.
The Horned Golem is a sturdy tank with above average health and the highest physical defense in the game. Attacking a Horned Golem with physical damage is an exercise in futility, especially if its player chooses to throw some momentum dice its way. Elemental Reinforcement sacrifices the Horned Golem’s attack, but makes its Elemental Resistance match its physical, turning it into an immortal stone wall until its next activation. Finding the right angle with Rock Toss can do a devastating amount of damage, but it should be used sparingly unless a constant source of healing is available.
